Despacito is a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, and Daddy Yankee became the song that was streamed the most in less than six months. In 2017, the single Despacito, which combines reggaeton with pop music has not just brought fresh attention to reggaeton music but also increased interest in Latin music. Billboard's Top 100 featured two songs which were Spanish generally, and four tracks in 2016. At the peak of the popularity of Despacito 19, 19 songs mostly in Spanish were included in the Billboard Top 100. In 2020, it will have 41 tracks that fall into this category. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish-language version in 2017 and soon after popular artists began working with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018) as well as Madonna collaborated on Medellin with Maluma (2019). In the year 2020, some Reggaeton musicians were complaining about the trend of the genre towards the mainstream. Yet, a young generation, such as Rauw Alejandro was keen to keep the trend going. It often blended elements from electronic dance music, as well as different genres.
